Duskfade abilities guide — attacks and demo-confirmed moves
A source-backed Duskfade move database covering jump, dash, grapple, glide, Blast Attack and the demo combat kit without invented damage values.
Duskfade confirms jump, dash, grapple and glide. The demo also unlocks Blast Attack and Grapple before the Wrath boss. Damage, cooldowns, combo lists and the full-game unlock order remain unverified until the release build can be tested.

Duskfade abilities and attacks database
This database answers one narrow question: which Duskfade actions are named by an official source? It does not turn trailer animation into a move name, estimate damage from a health bar, or present the demo as the final build. Duskfade launches on August 13, 2026, and Weird Beluga has already revised the demo with more content, visibility, performance and controller-vibration changes. Anything numerical can still move.
The safest split is between the full game’s advertised traversal kit and powers the current demo explicitly says it unlocks.
| Ability or action | Confirmed use | Availability boundary | Unknown today |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jump | Core platforming movement | Named for the full game | Extra-jump count and upgrade rules |
| Dash | Cross gaps and maintain fast movement | Named for the full game | Invulnerability, cooldown and air-dash limits |
| Grapple | A versatile traversal power used in platforming | Named for the full game and unlocked in the demo | Valid targets, range and final unlock location |
| Glide | Extend aerial movement through platforming challenges | Named for the full game | Stamina, duration and launch timing |
| Slash / close combat | Fight twisted enemies during traversal | The Steam summary says players jump, swing and slash | Formal combo names, damage and cancel windows |
| Blast Attack | An explosive power mixed into combat and platforming | Explicitly unlocked in the demo | Damage, resource cost, upgrades and full-game location |
Traversal actions: how the confirmed pieces fit
The Steam page describes a seamless blend rather than separate combat rooms and platforming rooms. Jump and dash establish the basic line. Grapple and glide extend that line across larger gaps and vertical spaces. That tells you what to practise in the demo: land cleanly, preserve momentum and learn when a grapple changes your direction.
It does not prove a specific combo such as “dash, jump, grapple, glide” is required at any named checkpoint. Those routes need firsthand verification. The updated demo now has four biomes, including the Mines, so the safest training goal is to recognise which tool the environment is asking for instead of memorising one old video route.
Demo powers: Blast Attack and Grapple
The demo store page is unusually clear: players unlock the explosive Blast Attack and the versatile Grapple while moving from Tick Town’s outskirts through a magical forest and ancient clockpunk ruins. Because the demo culminates in Wrath, both powers are in hand before its final skill check.
That gives us a reliable learning sequence but not exact pickup positions. The June update added roughly 50% more gameplay, Tick Town, more NPCs and four biomes. A location recorded from the older September 2025 demo may therefore be stale. This database treats the power names and their presence as confirmed while leaving coordinates and timestamps blank.
Combat facts we can safely use
Official copy confirms fast-paced, fluid combat, slashing and “twisted foes.” Wrath is the only officially named demo boss and is described as a manifestation of Zirian’s fears. The marketing page also says long-forgotten foes embody emotional hurdles, but it does not publish a boss roster or a universal weakness system.
For a first run, the evidence supports three practical habits:
- Learn movement before hunting optimal damage; traversal and combat are designed to blend.
- Re-test routes after unlocking Grapple or Blast Attack because the demo deliberately adds powers during the run.
- Use the four difficulty settings to learn timing at your pace; do not mistake a difficulty-specific observation for a universal statistic.
Missing data we will add after launch
The following columns are intentionally absent: input strings, damage, stagger, cooldown, resource cost, invulnerability frames, cancel windows, upgrade tiers, ability locations and full unlock order. Weird Beluga has not published them in text, and trailer-only guesses are not a database. After release, each value needs an in-game test, game version and platform before it can be labelled confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
- What abilities are confirmed in Duskfade?
- Jump, dash, grapple and glide are named on the official Steam page. The demo description specifically names Blast Attack and Grapple as powers unlocked during the opening level.
- Is this the complete Duskfade moveset?
- No. This is a pre-release, demo-confirmed database. No official complete move list, combo tree, damage table or final unlock order was available on August 12, 2026.
- Does Duskfade support controllers?
- Yes. Both the full game and demo list full controller support on Steam; the demo also lists DualSense support and recommends a gamepad.
